A woman from Great Yarmouth has praised the courage shown by two teenagers who kept a 14-year-old boy conscious after he suffered a broken nose.

The two youngsters found the boy in St George's Park, Great Yarmouth, at around 6pm last night and stayed to comfort him until ambulance services arrived. This helped to stop him drifting into unconsciousness.

Norfolk Police are at this stage unsure how his injuries were sustained.

Kat Perkins, who lives in Great Yarmouth, was walking her dog when she found the young man and woman attending to the 14-year-old.

She said: 'The two teenagers were amazing, had they not assisted him and kept him conscious the outcome could have been very different.

'The young girl in particular was brilliant and very brave.'

A spokesperson for Norfolk Police has confirmed an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported and the young boy was taken to the James Paget hospital for further treatment.

Mrs Perkins added: 'It's people like these two who prove there are still some good Samaritans out there.'
