A community garden will be at the heart of a £2m external revamp of Great yarmouth rail station, with work scheduled to be completed before summer.
The revamp aims to improve accessibility and enhance the landscape surrounding the area.
As part of the project, the development of a community garden has been proposed on an area north of Vauxhall Bridge, also known as the three-ways meeting point of Weavers' Way, Angles Way and Wherrymans Way.
And more than 60 people gathered at a community workshop to share ideas about the proposed development of a community garden.
The workshop, which attracted more than 60 people, was held in conjunction with the first neighbourhood lunch of the year at Yarmouth Library, and provided people with an opportunity to share their memories of the station and put forward ideas for the garden.
David Wardale, project engineer at Norfolk County Council, said feedback concerning the proposal had been positive.
He said: 'With the help of the community we are aiming to create an attractive space which incorporates people's ideas and memories of the area and instils a sense of pride. The feedback and discussions we have had to date, including with other key stakeholders, has been very encouraging.'
The scheme will provide the community with the opportunity to adopt and develop the garden and a spokesperson for Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnership said it could improve the area for both visitors and people living in the town.
'It's a great volunteering opportunity for anyone in the local community who is interested in making a difference. This community rail project will provide a much-improved gateway for railway passengers and turn the area into a more attractive place for visitors and local people alike.'
Other proposals include a landscaped 'garden walk' between Vauxhall Bridge and North Quay and creating a wide, continuous cycle and pedestrian path from the station to the Market Place via The Conge.
Yarmouth MP Brandon Lewissaid: 'I am keen to see this backed up with improvements to the station building itself, and have long called for investment.'
