Ann Thwaite, who lives near Long Stratton and turns 85 today, will be at a screening of the bioepic about Winnie-the-Pooh author A. A. Milne at Cinema City from 6pm.

After the film is shown, Mrs Thwaite will answer questions from the audience about Milne and her book, which won the Whitbread Biography of The Year award in 1990.

Mrs Thwaite released a new version of Goodbye Christopher Robin last week.

She said she was delighted, but not surprised, that the film had generated a lot of publicity.

Mrs Thwaite said: 'I'm not really surprised because so many people are interested in Winnie-the-Pooh and how it came about.

'The story is one that not many people know.'

The film stars Domhnall Gleeson as the writer who lived 1882-1956, and Margot Robbie as his wife, Daphne de Sélincourt.
