GoGoHares! revealed as Break’s new charity art trail for Norfolk

After the huge success of the GoGoGorillas! and the GoGoDragons! charity trails in Norwich, children's charity Break and Wild in Art are once again joining forces to create the new open air art event.

GoGoHares! will take place in 2018 and be a key part of Break's 50th anniversary celebrations - and, as these pictures show, the first of the hares have already been scampering around our fine city and exploring Norwich landmarks.

Today everyone is invited to take part in a special Mad Hatters Tea Party at The Forum to celebrate the announcement of the new trail.

Martin Green, Break's fundraising manager and who is leading the GoGoHare project, said: 'We are really excited to announce GoGoHares!

'With GoGoDragons! being so successful it was a challenge to choose a new sculpture but we think the GoGoHares! will capture people's imaginations and be a great showcase for artists. We are looking forward to getting people involved in the next step of the GoGo series, and we would love to see as many people as possible at today's event at The Forum.

'This is a chance to see first hand what we are proposing to deliver to Norwich and Norfolk in 2018.'

Hares have been picked for the sculptures as they are already popular subjects for artists and can also be found in the Norfolk countryside.

And instead of just one sculpture design there will be three - with the third design to be revealed at a later date.

Fifty sculptures will feature in the trail through Norwich and there are also plans to have GoGoHares! dotted around other parts of Norfolk. There will be a GoGoHares! education programme and it is hoped about 150 local schools, nursery groups and clubs will get involved.

Wild in Art director Sally-Ann Wilkinson said: 'Wild in Art is delighted to be working with Break on the third of a trilogy of events as part of their 50th anniversary programme in 2018. We hope that every hare will strike a golden chord with the communities of Norwich, and Norfolk, sponsors and artists to create a very special event to celebrate the charity's important and invaluable contribution to the region during the last half century.'
