An auction of the GoGo Hares which have delighted visitors to Norwich over the summer has raised more than £400,000 for Break, leading organisers to hail it as the most successful trail yet.
At an auction on Thursday evening, a packed audience of bidders keen to get their hands on one of the 50 unique sculptures raised a grand total of £409,600.
Hares sold for prices starting at £2,800, with the most sough after hares selling for £21,000.
Hilary Richards, CEO of Break said: 'I am astounded by the kind generosity of those successful enough to bid on and purchase their very own GoGoHare at the auction. Break are so proud to deliver this free art trail to the people of Norfolk and would like to thank you for your incredible support though sponsorship, donations and volunteering.
'Together we really are changing the young lives of so many local people, especially those moving on from care at just 18.'
The money raised by the GoGoHares trail will help fund the work carried out by Break's moving on team, which supports vulnerable young people to be able to live independently after leaving the care system.
