Offshore wind opportunities in the East of England were showcased at Europe's largest wind energy conference.
Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft firms appeared at Manchester's Central Convention Complex to discuss the benefits of offshore wind and the finer details of the industry at the event in June. More than 2,500 professionals from across the UK and Europe representing all sectors of the industry attended.
As part of partnership efforts to drive investment and business in offshore wind across the East, local councils from Great Yarmouth and Waveney along with Norfolk County Council organised the East of England Energy Zone stand at the event. Firms represented included Peel Ports Great Yarmouth, Stowen and Proserv.
Simon Gray, chief executive of the East of England Energy Group said the region was 'leading the way' in the development of offshore wind, which is expected to generate 10% of the UK's electricity by 2020.
