A dinosaur, Shakespeare and even Boris Johnson were drawn on for inspiration at this year's Great Ellingham Teddy Bear Festival, which started at the weekend.

Among the 63 bears on display in people's gardens and public spaces around the village are 'Teddasaurus', 'Shakes-bear' and 'Bear-is Johnson', complete with a blond mop.

Festival chairperson Heidi Halsall said hundreds of people were at the launch of the festival on Saturday, when 53 garage sales also took place around the village.

She said: 'The launch of the festival was brilliant and we had a lot of people walking around looking at all the bears and enjoying it all.

'Everyone has been really creative and the bears are all looking wonderful this year.'

At the weekend, there was also a 'vintage cafe' set up on the village green.

Among the other designs are a 'Remem-bear-ance' bear in a giant poppy cast, a bear dressed for a graduation and a 'Teddy the Eagle' bear on skis, inspired by Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards.

The festival, which draws scores of visitors to the village each year, will run until July 17.

As part of the fun, there will be a 'golden oldies' music night on Saturday from 8pm featuring singer Keegan Featherstone at The Crown pub. There will also be a mediumship evening on July 13.

And on July 16 from 11am to 5pm there will be a TedFest event at the recreation ground.

TedFest will raise money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices as well as village groups and feature live music, food and drink stalls and children's entertainment.
