SATURDAY'S EVENTS
Art on the Railings
St Peter Mancroft church (10am-4pm)
The railings of St Peter Mancroft church are transformed into an open-air gallery by local artists looking to display and sell their work.
Lord Mayor's animation celebration
Chapelfield Plain (10am-4pm)
Back-to-back screening of videos created by Norfolk animators on the big screen outside Chapelfield Shopping Centre. Last year, the animation celebration included content from children who took part in the 'Magimation' workshops held at the Norwich Puppet Theatre, primary school projects, Norfolk community groups, university students and professional animators – what will this year's animations include?
School's out children's activities
St George's Plan and St George's Street (1pm-4pm)
Chapelfield Gardens (11am-5pm)
Opportunities for children to get creative with arts and crafts, hula hooping and storytelling at the children's corner on St Georges Plain and St Georges Street. There will also be clowns, puppets, bushcraft and treasure hunting in Chapelfield Gardens.
Funfair
Chapelfield Gardens (11am-10pm)
Featuring an 1890 traditional carousel, dodgems, flying chairoplanes and a helter skelter, as well as all the usual fun of the fair.
BBC Norfolk Introducing
Chapelfield Gardens stage (1pm-4.30pm)
An afternoon of the best of Norwich's up-and-coming bands, including We Can't Dance and Cakes and Ale, brought to you by the BBC Radio Norfolk's Introducing team.
The Forum stage
Millennium Plain (1pm-10.30pm)
All sorts of different crazy things will be keeping the crowds happy outside The Forum. The colourful stalls and parades will include acts from The Garage, Whirling Dervish, West End star Benjamin Lake's solo act, Bollywood Sparkles, Heather Milan School of Dance Anam Cara Dance and Norwich Samba.
Lord Mayor's Street Procession (5pm) From Newmarket Road to St Martins Palace Plain.
Belleruche and Kasai Masai
Chapelfield Gardens stage (5pm-7.30pm)
London hip-hop, blues and soul act Belleruche open the main stage music acts in Chapelfield Gardens, followed Kasai Masai, a traditional African music group with an urban twist.
Norwich City Concert Band
Gentlemans Walk (6.30pm)
The local brass band put in a special open-air performance featuring classical show music and marches.
Street Mayhem!
City centre (7pm-10pm)
All sorts of weird and wonderful acts will be keeping the party going after the procession as part of the Street Mayhem! parade.
Described as 'an extraordinary processional street show', the parade will feature works from special guests Emergency Exit Arts and Tin House to create Fair and Fowl Play. Other crazy entertainment acts include: The Human Dukesbox, Hip Hopping – Granny Turismo, The Wardens who love to say no, strange little creatures Hodman and Sally, Draggon Heart Beats and the Digital Paparazzi.
Norwich Pipe Band
London Street (7.15pm-8.15pm)
After leading the Lord Mayor's procession through the city, the pipe band will head to London Street to bring the sounds of Scotland to Norwich.
Magic of Take That
Chapelfield Gardens stage (8pm-10pm)
One of Great Britain's top Take That tribute acts will provide the perfect opportunity for those from Norfolk who couldn't get tickets to the real Take That's current UK tour. The Magic of Take That will be cranking up the volume with all of the British boy band's hits for a night you'll never forget! Combined with special effects and lighting design, the group's Robbie Williams and Take That cover acts will come together to complete the famous fivesome.
Fireworks
City centre (10.30pm)
The spectacular fireworks show from Norwich Castle will be visible for miles around and, particularly with clear weather forecast for tonight, the display should be visible for miles around.
