Six people hospitalised following “serious assault” in North Lynn

Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Seabank Way in North Lynn, at around 1.50pm on Tuesday, September 12.

Four victims and two arrested suspects were taken to hospital after sustaining injuries and one male suspect was taken to the police investigation centre.

Police confirmed all those involved in the incident knew each other.

A police spokesman said: 'Police were called to reports of a disorder involving a group of people on Seabank Way.

'Six people were injured during the incident and have been taken to hospital.

'Initial enquiries are ongoing and a seal is in place at the scene.

'However, those involved are believed to be known to each other.

'Two men and a woman have been arrested and will be questioned in due course.'

Air ambulance attended the scene but stood down.

Residents in the area said they had heard someone had been stabbed, but that had not been confirmed by police.

Mike Atwal, owner and sub postmaster of the nearby Seabank Post Office, in Losinga Road, said: 'There is always something happening in North Lynn. I am just running my business and keeping myself to myself.'

Next door in Sea Bank Fish and Chips, a shop worker said fights were common in the area.

Photographer Paul Tibbs said seven police cars and two ambulances were at the scene when he arrived at around 3pm.

He said a further four or five police cars were heading in the direction of the hospital.

People took to social media to express their shock.

Paul Lough said on Twitter: 'All going off in North Lynn, air ambulance, 4 ambulances, dozens of police. Reports of up to 5 people stabbed.'
