Former Norwich City striker Dean Ashton was the star attraction at Hethersett Old Hall School on Saturday.

An Olympic themed fete offered people the chance to take up a special challenge set by Ashton.

A 'beat the goalkeeper' challenge was set, with Ashton donning the goalkeeper's gloves to try to keep out the spot-kicks, as demonstrated here by Ethan Long, aged six.

There was also a 'shoot the hoops' competition held by the Norwich-based Thoroughbreds national netball team, along with a golfing challenge and a full-size climbing wall.

There was all the fun of the fair, as local school pupils paraded carrying flags to represent the different Olympic countries.

Along with other sporting themed stalls, games, refreshments and prizes up for grabs, as well as the fine weather, the event proved to be a popular day out for local youngsters.
