A flood alert has been issued for Southwold as high tide levels are expected along the Suffolk coast tonight.
Shortly before 4pm today (Wednesday) the alert was issued by the Environment Agency due to a 'combination of spring tides and strong winds'.
According to the alert, which advises residents to 'be prepared' as 'flooding is possible' – the forecast wind direction is westerly with the wind strength predicted to reach force 5.
The flood alert will remain in force until 12.30am tomorrow morning.
