A time honoured tradition was observed at a primary school in the borough, as the children became bread-winners for their families.
The annual Penny Loaves presentation was held at Fleggburgh Primary School on Monday, in a tradition dating back more than 100 years.
The event sees members of the Burgh and Billockby Trustees of the Poor present each child at the school with a loaf of bread - known as penny loaves - and takes place on the first Monday after the Twelfth Night each year.
The loaves were bought by trustees from the Martham Bread and Roll Company, which is now based at Caister Bakery, with around 130 given out to children.
The loaves -which were baked into the shape of hedgehogs - were given out at a special assembly at the school, which saw a short service given by The Rev Judith Dunkling, priest-in-charge of St Margaret's Church.
