A teenage boy was flown to hospital last night after suffering a serious head injury following a three vehicle crash.

The crash happened on the A134 Stoke Road, Wereham, near Downham Market, at 6.15pm and four ambulances, two paramedic cars and the air ambulance were sent to the scene to treat five injured people.

The most seriously injured was a 14-year-old boy, who had initially lost consciousness. He had suffered a head injury and was flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn.

The four other patients at the scene included a woman with suspected arm fractures, one man with back pain and two female teenagers in shock. They were also all taken to King's Lynn hospital.

The road was shut for around four hours between the Church Road and Lynn Road junctions following the crash on the busy route between Downham Market and Thetford.
