First aid volunteers who provide emergency assistance to the ambulance service are back on the road after a local donor helped them purchase a new vehicle.
The Thetford Community First Responders (CFRs) had been tackling electrical problems with their old van, affecting their ability to respond to medical emergencies in the area.
But now the group of eight volunteers is fully mobile again after two local businessmen gave a generous donation towards their fund for a new vehicle.
Pat and Joe Pearson, of Pearsons Recycling, put forward the money through their family foundation.
The 2012 Skoda 4x4 has been decorated with a green CFR chequerboard design and logos.
The CFRs are a medical charity which assists the ambulance service in emergency situations, administering first aid to patients before the arrival of an ambulance crew.
The trained volunteers provide care in cases of serious illness and injury such as heart attacks and strokes.
