A karting day organised by Wymondham-based fabrication company Pruce Newman has raised £4,500 towards a new children's hospice.

Pruce Newman hosted the day at Ellough Raceway in Suffolk as part of a pledge to raise £10,000 for the Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) nook appeal by the end of 2018. The event, which was also sponsored by Mackinnon Construction, saw 11 corporate teams taking part in the karting, as well as a raffle and barbecue.

Graham Newman, managing director said: 'We had a fantastic evening racing for the nook appeal, and I am delighted that we managed to raise such a large amount of money. We're proud to be supporters of the nook appeal, but we couldn't have done this without the participation and generosity of our friends and customers from across the region.

'It was great to see teams entered from companies such as Briar Chemicals, Norwich Airport, PPG and Tyco.'
