Two crews of firefighters were called out to help a Saturday-evening drinker who fell into a river.
Members of the public had managed to get a life ring around the person after they went into the water near Ludham Bridge at about 8.30pm last night.
A fire service spokesman said the crews spent about 15 minutes at the scene, and provided water treatment care.
An ambulance was also called, but it is not thought the person suffered major injuries.
