A blaze ripped through the roof of a thatched cottage in a Norfolk village this evening.
The fire broke out at the home at Norwich Road in Ludham just after 5pm.
Eight fire crews battled the flames, with a hydraulic platform used to try to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters stripped the thatch from the property and used jets and hydrants to douse the flames.
They had brought the fire under control by 7.30pm.
Police closed the A1062 leading into Ludham while fire crews from Martham, Stalham, Wroxham, Acle. Dereham, Great Yarmouth and Wymondham tackled the fire.
