Firefighters tackled a blaze that broke out at a high street store in King's Lynn.

Emergency services were called at about 12.50pm today (July 30) to reports of a fire at WH Smiths on Norfolk Street in the town.

Three fire crews were King's Lynn tackled the fire that appeared to involve part of the shop front and the first floor above the store.

Customers and staff were safely evacuated from the shop and Nelson Street was cordoned off while the incident was dealt with.

The fire was out by 1.30pm and firefighters used thermal imagine equipment to check for hot spots to prevent it reigniting.
