A fire alarm at Colchester railway station has caused severe delays on the Norwich to London line this afternoon.

The alarm went off in the signal box at Tuesday lunchtime.

Train services running through Colchester station are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 5pm.

Services in both directions between Liverpool Street and Colchester, Clacton on Sea, Ipswich and Norwich are disrupted.
