The family of a father of three have made an appeal to the people of Norfolk to help get him home for Christmas after he went missing having been in the county.

Cornelius Sullivan, 49, from Romford, Essex, was last seen on Monday, December 9, but bank records show he withdrew money from Tesco in Victoria Road, Diss at 1pm on December 11.

His sister-in-law, Jeanette Smith, said Mr Sullivan - known as 'Con' - suffered from depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

'Obviously, we are really concerned because in the past he has always got in touch with his family if he has gone missing.

'We just need more eyes because the area is so vast that the more people that are aware he's missing the better,' she said.

Mr Sullivan had 'no reason' to be in Diss, according to Mrs Smith, but said the route may be familiar from visits to the area in the past.

He speaks with an Irish accent, is of slim build and normally has a moustache, although he is unlikely to have shaved since he was last seen, according to Mrs Smith. He is driving a white Renault Kangoo van, registration number EO62 CHC.

The police have been informed and an appeal for information has been placed on the Missing People website.

Mr Sullivan's father and brother were in Norfolk over the weekend distributing leaflets and looking for information on his whereabouts.

Mrs Smith said she had also emailed every county councillor in Suffolk and Norfolk in an appeal for help, but only three had replied.

She said the response had been 'disappointing' but would be writing to councillors again to ask for their support in the efforts to find Mr Sullivan.

She added that the family has also reached out to churches in the area as Mr Sullivan is a practicing Roman Catholic.
