Hinks Meadow Hall in Thorpe Marriott was transformed into a winter wonderland yesterday as it staged its first festive fair. The event, organised by friends Vee Tebble and Judith Glasson, raised several hundred pounds for St Edmund's Church, Taverham, Taverham FC, Macmillan Cancer Support and Quidenham children's hospice.
Mrs Tebble, a member of St Edmund's Church, said: 'There was a fantastic turn-out, the village really supported us on a very cold day. We will certainly be repeating the event.'
As well as a variety of refreshments and a guess the weight of the Christmas cake contest, children were able to see Father Christmas and his elves in a special grotto.
Stalls sold a range of gifts, crafts, cakes, plants, hampers and chocolates.
