Emergency services are currently attending an incident in Chedgrave after a stolen car went into the River Chet.
Police were called at about 7.15am this morning to the scene, which is just off Pits Lane.
A Norfolk police spokesman said they had received a report of a motor vehicle, which matches the description of the car in the water, being stolen from Beach Road in Gorleston at some point between 1am and 6am.
They added that it does not appear anybody was in the vehicle - believed to be a black Mercedes - at the time of it going into river, or that anybody was injured.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service was also called to the scene and sent a fire crew from Loddon and the water crew from Carrow. The crews are currently coordinating their recovery of the vehicle, which remains in the water.
