Elderly woman is hit by car in Wymondham

An elderly woman suffered a broken hip when she was hit by a car outside a bank in Wymondham.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, which happened near Barclays bank in Market Street just before 3pm on Saturday.

The car involved was a silver Volkswagen Polo.

A police spokesman said: 'A number of people went to the aid of the pedestrian prior to paramedics arriving at the scene and officers are keen to hear anyone who may have witnessed the incident.'
