Eight of the most romantic places in Norfolk

•The Gazebo at Sheringham Park

Hidden away in the middle of woodland at Sheringham Park, The Gazebo gives you 360 degree views of north Norfolk. The 100 steps take you up to a viewpoint on top of the tree canopy where you can have some time to take in the scenery around you. Neil Perry, Deputy Head of News at Mustard TV, proposed to his wife at the top of The Gazebo and said it is at its most romantic at sunset.

You can enjoy a peaceful walk at Ranworth Broad, through the reeds to the thatched visitor centre. Impress your loved one with knowledge of the wildlife before climbing to the very top of the church and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Norfolk Broads.

•Blickling Hall

For the cultural couple, Blickling Hall provides an ideal location. The 17th Century hall boasts an impressive collection of tapestries, paintings and sculptures. Pack a picnic and head off into the grounds to find a picturesque spot for a romantic afternoon. Blickling Hall also host weddings - just in case your Valentine's Day turns out really well.

•Holkham Beach

Any location used for the film 'Shakespeare in Love' must have an air of romance about it and Holkham Beach on the north Norfolk coast is no exception. Reader Vicky Bentall said of the beach: 'My husband proposed to me there and it is one of my favourite spots in the world.'

It is the ideal place for a romantic morning stroll before you sit back amongst the dunes and watch the sun.

•Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden

Located in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, the calm nature of the surroundings is guaranteed to help you escape the stresses of modern life. The garden has over three miles of walks, on which you can take in beautiful flowers and enjoy the wildlife. There is also a rustic bridge across the waterways; the perfect place to take a loved-up photo.

•Mousehold Heath

The top of the hill at Mousehold Heath gives you the best view across Norwich. It is at its most romantic at sunset and sunrise.

•Lynford Arboretum

The Arboretum near Mundford is popular with many couples for its stunning lakes and picturesque walks. The woodland is home to a variety of bird life and spring flowers which are easy to spot on walks round the lake. EDP photographer Sonya Duncan said it is one of her favourite places: 'The lakes are pretty for a walk anytime of the year, always quiet and very secluded plus you can have something to eat and drink at Lynford Hall Hotel afterwards.'

•River Wensum

A hand-in-hand walk along the River Wensum is one of the most romantic ways to spend your day in Norwich. Take in some history including the Cathedral, Pull's Ferry and Lollard's Pit before reaching Elm Hill quay, where you can hop in a boat for a picturesque river cruise through the city.
