The story of a restored canal will be told in an illustrated talk and visit on May 30.
Guided by members of the Canal Trust and Norfolk Wildlife Trust, the day school at North Walsham and Dilham Canal and Pigney’s Wood will be run by The Norfolk Federation of the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA).
The canal runs from Wayford Bridge near Stalham to Antingham, near North Walsham.
Visitors will learn about the decline and dereliction of the canal and its restoration in recent years.
Included in the trip is a visit to one of the canal reconstructions and to the adjacent Pigney’s Wood, a nature reserve managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
The day runs from 10am-4pm.
Bookings can be made for £15 using the WEA brochure, obtainable in county libraries, or through Michael Bugden on 01603 782555 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
