More than 430 schools close for third day running due to treacherous conditions

Norfolk schools closed today include:

• Acle St Edmund C Of E Primary School (NR13 3RQ) - Regrettably, the school will remain closed today, following high winds which continue to cause extremely difficult road conditions for members of our school community.

• Acorn Park School (NR16 2HU) - Due to continuing poor weather we will remain closed

• Admirals Academy (IP24 2JT) - Continued hazardous travel and site conditions caused by the ice and snow. All Aboard is also closed.

• Broadland High School (NR12 8QN) - We are closed due to very dangerous local roads and have followed the advice of Norfolk CC and Norfolk Police regarding travel.

• Browick Road Primary And Nursery School (NR18 0QW) - We reluctantly remain closed to ensure the safety of children, parents and staff.

• Brundall School (NR13 5JX) - School closed due to icy conditions making travel unsafe.

• Thurlton Primary School (NR14 6RN) - Due to the continuing treacherous roads, especially around the village the school will remain closed on Friday 2nd to safeguard pupils Parents/Carers and staff.

• Tilney All Saints CE Primary School (PE34 4RP) - Acting on advice from King’s Lynn police and careful consideration of the journeys having to be undertaken by some members of the teaching staff, School will unfortunately remain closed today. We are sorry for the inconvenience, for staff as well as families. We will celebrate WORLD BOOK DAY on Monday when we hope to reopen. If you have to travel today please take care.

• Trafalgar College (NR31 0DN) - Closed (Fri 2nd) - due to site safety concerns and difficulties in travelling to school for students and staff.

• Trowse Primary School (NR14 8TH) - To keep everyone safe from drifting snow on roads and extremely icy conditions for travelling- plus no dinners at lunchtime, school is closed.

• Tuckswood Academy And Nursery (NR4 6BP) - Unfortunately Tuckswood will remain closed on Friday March 2nd, due to the continuing adverse weather conditions and potentially dangerous travelling conditions for staff. The site remains inaccessible to pupils, parents and staff and will not be safe to use until the weather improves and we are able to make an assessment. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

• University Technical College, Norfolk (NR4 6FF) - Continuing transport issues for students and staff mean that we have had to close. Apologies.

• Valley Primary Academy (NR5 8XZ) - Sorry, we are closed Friday due to the continued bad weather. We anticipate being open on again on Monday.

• Walsingham CE VA Primary School (NR22 6DU) - Due to hazardous conditions school will remain closed today.

• Watton Westfield Infant and Nursery School (IP25 6AU) - Having been to Westfield to assess the situation, it would be irresponsible to expect staff, parents and children to make the journey. School remains closed. Please stay safe and warm.

• Wayland Academy (IP25 6BA) - Continued adverse weather and very low temperatures make travelling too risky and site clearance difficult

• Wayland Junior Academy Watton (IP25 6AL) - Wayland Junior will remain closed today due to unsafe site and travel conditions.

• Weasenham Church of England Primary Academy (PE32 2SP) - Due to continued adverse weather conditions in and around the village, it is with regret that we have had to close today. World Book Day will be rearranged.

• West Winch Primary School (PE33 0LA) - Sorry! Despite being open yesterday - the weather conditions, road situation and challenging temperatures have not improved, so we are reluctantly closed today. Please keep warm and enjoy the snow. See you next week!
