Benjamin Scott, one of the authors of the Star Fighter space adventure series, visited the school on Thursday, June 15.

The author ran a day of workshops for ages 7 to 11, and the school library also received £175 worth of books for the whole school to enjoy.

Headteacher Rick Stuart-Sheppard said: 'It's a double win to be able to welcome Benjamin to the school and receive 29 books for the school library. Anything that gets students engaged with reading and writing is a winner.

'We're hoping Benjamin's visit will be a great encouragement to the boys in the school, adding zest into our literacy work.'
