Opera is on the timetable at three Norwich schools as pupils get ready to perform on the Norwich Theatre Royal stage.

Firside Junior School, Magdalen Gates Primary School and Kinsale Junior School are taking part on the theatre's Norfolk Schools Project. Pupils have been busy creating their own productions inspired by La Bohème, Puccini's tale of young love. The young people have been working with opera singers, musicians and drama professionals to create the songs, scenes and music for their performances, and on March 15 they will take to the Theatre Royal stage.

The young performers taking part have also been offered the chance to see English Touring Opera's production of La Bohème. The Norfolk Schools Project performance is at 2.30pm on Sunday, March 15. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance by calling the Norwich Theatre Royal box office on 01603 630000.
