More than 250 girls from schools and sixth forms from across Norfolk will get an insight into science and technology careers.

Inspiring Females: STEM will be held by Norwich High School for Girls as part of its Inspiring Females programme, and will take place on Wednesday, May 2 at the John Innes Centre at Norwich Research Park.

The event aims to engage girls aged 15 to 17 in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects, and will explore the crossover between those industries and art, design and business.

Students will meet 18 women working in the fields, attend panel sessions, question and answer sessions and enjoy hands-on workshops.

The line-up includes Aviva, Norwich Research Park, the University of East Anglia and the Natural History Museum in London.

Kirsty Von Malaisé, headmistress at Norwich High, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for girls across Norfolk to explore the great breadth of possibilities in STEM careers, and to be inspired by the ingenuity of so many fabulous women.”
