They are served up lunch by the same people who have provided meals for the cast in some of the biggest movie blockbusters - including Harry Potter, Gladiator, and Braveheart.

Madison's Café at Paston Sixth Form College is run by husband and wife team Kevin and Anne Chamberlin, from Cromer Road in Thorpe Market.

They also own Mad's Outside Catering which has provided catering for film sets over 15 years.

Mr Chamberlin, 55, a chef for 40 years, said: 'It's not as glamorous as everyone makes out, it has changed a lot over the years, now they have separate kitchens so it's much more of a relaxed atmosphere. And nowadays the main cast have their own chefs because of fads and special diets.

'When we were on the set of White Hunter in Zimbabwe, Clint Eastwood had is own hamper flown in from Harrods and on the first Mission Impossible film with Tom Cruise in Prague, I had to go to Germany two times a week to get organic fruit and veg.'

Mrs Chamberlin, 50, now focuses her attention on Madison's Café while her husband spends time mingling with film stars.

She said: 'The college want us here to provide for the students and it is very rewarding and good fun. They are good kids, we have a great relationship with them, I sometimes feel like Aunty Anne.'

Mr Chamberlin has just returned from working at Leavesden Studios near Watford. He added: 'We often get the kids asking us about film sets and we give the drama department call sheets from films.'

While working on a film set may seem exciting and amazing, it does not come without it's challenges.

Often the duo have needed to go to extra lengths to source food for the cast and crew.

Mr Chamberlin said: 'In Turkey I had to try and source bacon, I was in conversation with our butcher in Slough who said his supplier had sent 100 cases to a hotel in Marmaris.'

The team, who have been married for 22 years, also reminisce over how food has changed.

Mr Chamberlin said: 'The food is more upmarket now, and as much as people say money is tight, they will always spend a lot on food. You get more canapes these days whereas 30 years ago it was more vol-au-vents. You also have to be mindful now of more vegetarians, vegans and whose who are lactose intolerant. But it's all part of it, we say nothing is too much trouble and go the extra mile.'

Madison's Café is open to students and staff at the college from 8.45am to 4pm and three times a week there is Chinese food on offer.
