Thirty-five children were removed from a Great Yarmouth school in as many days.
According to figures released under a Freedom of Information Request, 41 children were removed from the register at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy, on Salisbury Road, between September 6 and October 10.
But the Inspiration Trust, which took over the school in August, said the figure included six pupils who had been assigned a place by the council but never attended and added that 12 pupils had applied to join the school during the same period.
The 35 equates to one a day, and came during division over a change of leadership and tougher behaviour rules at the school.
A spokesman for the school said: 'It is disappointing that some pupils are missing out on the much-needed improvements being made at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy.
'Classes are now much calmer and teachers and pupils can focus on learning, not putting up with bad behaviour from a disruptive minority.
'We support a family's right to choose the school that is right for them, and are delighted that 12 pupils have applied to join Charter Academy in recent weeks.'
Some of the pupils will have transferred to schools nearby, while others may be home educated.
Meanwhile, a separate request also showed that 28 pupils transferred from - or applied to transfer from - Trafalgar College, another trust school in Great Yarmouth, to other schools from September 6 to October 5.
In September, the trust announced proposals to merge the two schools, despite Trafalgar, on Thamesfield Way, only having opened in September 2016.
Following feedback after a consultation on the merger, the trust pledged to look at transport arrangements and said it would not start the sixth form at the new school until 2021, two years later than originally suggested.
They said that two pupils had applied to join Trafalgar in the same period.
