Norwich School pupils bedded down on the cold floor of the cathedral's cloisters on Saturday night to support a homeless charity.
The sixth form students spent the night sleeping rough in aid of the St Martins Housing Trust and raised over 400.
The 43 pupils kept spirits up with ghost tales about the cloisters from Norwich ghost walker, the man in black, arm wrestling competitions and songs.
Inny Agnew, 17, said: 'It was really successful but I didn't expect it to be that cold.'
Organiser Alex Boyt said they managed to get around two hours of sleep.
And Derek Player, general manager at St Martin's Housing Trust, said: 'Successive generations at the school have taken an interest in the plight of homeless people in Norwich and I think we at St Martin's are delighted that this tradition is being kept up.'
