One of Norwich's historic landmarks is being filled with song this week as school choirs take part in Norfolk County Music Festival.
Schools from across Norfolk have been performing in St Andrew's Hall every day since Monday with the final choirs set to take to the stage on Thursday.
David Capp, former chairman of the festival, said: 'Every morning this week we have had school choirs performing. About 58 choirs in total are taking part.
'Everyday St Andrew's Hall has been filled twice over. Some choirs are very experienced, some are coming for the very first time, but it is quite remarkable how confident these young voices are on stage.
'This is the top concert hall in Norfolk and they have risen to the occasion. I have been very, very pleased with the standard of singing and performance.'
Norfolk County Music Festival is celebrating its 90th year and in total about 4,000 musicians are involved in the 2015 festival.
The festival began on March 2 and last week it focussed largely on piano, string instruments and percussion with a special 90th birthday concert at St Andrew's Hall last Saturday.
This week the festival includes performances by school choirs, young and adult singers, brass, recorders and woodwind.
The festival is organised by a team including the Norfolk County Music Festival Charitable Trust, the Norfolk County Music Service and private providers such as the Wharf Academy.
