A Norwich university student has been shortlisted twice in a global publisher's awards.
Emily Courdelle, a third-year student at Norwich University of the Arts, has been shortlisted in two out of three categories in Penguin Random House's Student Design Award 2018.
She has been successful in the children's cover and adult fiction cover categories, becoming the only nominee this year to make the 10-person lists twice.
She was chosen from more than 2,100 submissions for her redesign of the Noughts and Crosses and Animal Farm book covers.
Emily will now go up against nine other student designers, with the winners receiving a work placement with Penguin Random House and a £1,000 cash prize.
She said the award was vital for students hoping to pursue a career in the publishing industry.
'The main thing I have learnt is to make sure that my concept is simple,' she said. 'The idea behind the book cover needs to be designed in a way that is easy for the audience to grasp and connect with, while also looking visually pleasing.'
