A number of literary experts have passed through the doors of Open Academy in Norwich this week as part of their seventh literary festival.

Held from July 2 to July 6, the theme of this year's festival was Writing is the Painting of the Voice, a quote from French writer Voltaire.

Included in the line up were Dr Kim Ridleigh, a Egyptologist from UEA, author Raffaella Barker, and singer/songwriter and journalist Tom Ryder.

Norwich Writers' Centre also delivered a number of workshops where students could explore Really Wild Stories, part of a new project run by the group.

Academy staff also put on events of their own including a photographic and poetic experience, where students created photographic images linked to their writing.

Students could also take part in the Year 7 Directors' Challenge, where they faced a Dragon's Den-style panel of teachers to pitch for the rights to create a film idea.
