It is time for some Easter fair fun in Great Yarmouth.

That was the message this afternoon as the mayor of the town, Malcolm Bird, launched the Great Yarmouth Easter fair, which has taken over the town centre for four days.

Mr Bird and the mayoress Donna Bird helped to get the fair off to a bumper start- as they tried out dodgem cars.

Mr Bird said: 'It gives me great pleasure to open this Easter fair. I would like to pass on my best wishes for a successful few days.'

The borough council is running the fair with the eastern counties branch of the Showmen's Guild.

Among the rides and attractions planned are dodgems, a bomber, a fun house, and a helter-skelter.

There will be other fairground attractions, including candy floss, toffee-apples and doughnuts, for families to enjoy.

It starts with reduced prices rides tonight until 11pm.

The fair continues Friday and Saturday between 11am and 11pm, and on Sunday between noon and 6pm.
