An Easter congregation brought traffic to standstill in Gorleston as parishioners took part in an annual Walk of Witness service through the town.
A large group from several churches in the town gathered outside the Feathers pub in the High Street this morning, where their on-the-move service started with a reading and hymn.
Led by a large crucifix, which was carried by different bearers on each stage of the walk, the congregation made its way up Church Lane, into the Magdalen estate and finished at St Mary Magdalen for a service at the foot of the cross.
At each stop the crowd gathered around the wooden cross to hear a bible reading, telling the story of Jesus' crucifixion, and then sang a hymn before moving on.
Among the congregation were members of St Andrew's, St Mary Magdalene, Gorleston Baptist and Cliff Park Community Church.
? Worshippers also gathered in Winterton on Good Friday for a Walk the Way of the Cross service. Starting at Winterton church, the congregation wound its way through the village to the dunes and beach.
