Two drunken youths attacked a driver after kicking two cars, Norwich Crown Court was told yesterday.

After drinking vodka and beer, Jamie Lowe, 18, and Andrew Reynolds, 19, kicked a car in Lakenham Road, Norwich as it waited at traffic lights, then kicked another when it slowed down as they stood in the road, the court heard.

When the second driver left his car to find out what was happening, Lowe approached him and punched him in the face. Both youths attacked him before he was able to drive off.

He suffered two black eyes and bruises and more than £1,000 damage was done to his car.

Reynolds, of Drayton Wood Road, Norwich and Lowe, of Union Street, admitted actual bodily harm, criminal damage and threatening behaviour. Lowe also admitted further offences of threatening behaviour and criminal damage and assaulting a security officer at Asda.

Reynolds was sent to a young offenders' institution for six months and Lowe to 10 months in a young offenders' institution.

Ian James, for Lowe, said he was receiving help for some of his problems after a period of homelessness. Julia Mackay, for Reynolds, said it was an isolated incident.
