Drivers must pay attention to road closure signs in times of flooding, the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service has warned.
This follows two call outs to attend to vehicles stuck in floodwater in Welney Wash near King's Lynn on Tuesday.
In the first at 12.30pm, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Ely and King's Lynn with the Surface Rescue Boat were mobilised to reports of a person stuck in a vehicle in Welney Wash.
However, on arrival they found the vehicle was unoccupied.
In the second at 5.30pm, appliances from Outwell, Littleport and the boat team from King's Lynn raced to Welney Wash following another report of a person stuck in a vehicle in floodwater.
'By the time the crews got there the person had managed to free themselves,' said a spokesperson.
The service later tweeted: 'A further two incidents have occurred at Welney Wash today as a result of vehicles ignoring closure signs.'
Cambridgeshire Fire chiefs recently criticised drivers for taking foolish risks trying to drive through Welney Wash.
Littleport fire fighters were called out three times in 24 hours to extract hapless motorists attempting to cross the flooded road.
A Cambridgeshire Fire spokesman said: 'Please don't run the risk, and seek alternative routes.'
Flooding makes the A1101 impassable between Welney and Suspension Bridge, leaving the village cut off from the south and drivers facing a 30-mile detour.
In 2016, the road was closed for more than a week after days of heavy rainfall led to water levels rising to three metres in some places.
