The centrepiece of a couple's wedding day was painstakingly re-created for their 65th anniversary.
Jelena Morozova, the chef at Downham Grange, crafted the two-tier cake for the couple's surprise party at the home in Clackclose Road, Downham Market, where Mrs Hart, 86, is a resident. Their celebration was joined by staff, family and friends. Mr Hart, 86, had a successful career in the Royal Navy. He was doing his training on the south coast when he met his wife at a dance. After they married on March 8, 1952, he sailed away on a two and a half year tour. She said this was part of being married to the navy and she got on with raising their four children.
When asked the secret of a having long and happy marriage, she said: 'Love and support each other and just enjoy the life you have and don't worry about anything that might happen.'
Mr Hart lives at the couple's home in Shouldham. The couple have six grandchildren.
