Dogs Trust Snetterton has rehomed an incredible 100 dogs in just 70 days. With January seeing the highest number of dogs rehomed out of any single month in the past six months, this latest milestone is another great achievement for the Norfolk-based rehoming centre.

This weekend eight of the lucky 100 started their new adventures and went home with their new families. Six of the new four-legged friends were from a litter of Collie/German Shepherd cross puppies named after characters from the Wombles. So off went Uncle Bulgaria, Bungo, Adelaide, Alderney, Orinocco and Wellington along with Terrier Roy and Greyhound Gypsy.

Says Kate Brewster, Dogs Trust Snetterton Supporter Relations Officer: 'The team and I are all delighted to have surpassed this figure and can't wait until we've doubled it or even trebled it. We've had dogs of all shapes and size come into the centre and it is always so nice to be able to find them new homes. Many of the new families keep us updated with how the dogs are getting on and send us pictures of them clearly enjoying the home comforts.'

The centre rehomes between 37-54 dogs in a month and dogs can stay with the centre for any period of time, while some have a very brief stay at the centre others take a little longer to find their perfect home.

Taking the title of longest resident at the centre, is Stan who arrived at the end of 2010.

Loveable Stan is a four-year old Labrador who finds kennel life a bit confusing and is looking for understanding and patient adopters and perhaps a fellow canine, ideally female, to share his new home with. A big fan of playtime, and long walks, Stan is looking for an active family who can take the time to help him settle in and allow him to find his 'paws' in his new home.

If anyone thinks they can offer Stan a new home, or to find out more about Dogs Trust Snetterton and any of the 70-plus dogs at the centre, pop in and see them all at North End Road, Snetterton, Norfolk, NR16 2LD, call on 01953 498377 or visit www.dogstrust.org.uk.
