Dog owners paraded their dogs to help raise almost £500 at a special charity event held at Bilney Hall residential home, near Dereham.

Bilney Hall hosted the inaugural event on June 3 and raised £450 in aid of the home's chosen charity for 2017, Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue (NORLSAR).

Attendees joined residents in enjoying entertainment, stalls and refreshments, along with a show which saw dogs and their owners competing for rosettes for first, second and third place in categories such as 'waggiest tail', 'most handsome dog' and 'dog most like their owner'.

Home Manager Jenny Daynes said 'The Dog Day was a huge success, and we are thrilled with the support we received and with the number of people who brought along their loveable dogs to take part in the event. Many of our residents love it when four-legged friends visit our home, so they were able to enjoy a wonderful afternoon.'
