A DISTRACTION burglar stole a woman's handbag and jewellery box after claiming he needed to read her meter.
The man called at the home in Beccles Road, Bradwell between 1.30pm and 1.50pm yesterday.
The homeowner stayed with the man while he was in her home, but an hour-and-a-half after he left she noticed the handbag had gone missing from her bedroom and the box had been stolen.
The front door was left insecure while the man was reading the meter.
