A museum which charts the past of one of Norfolk's oldest and most historic towns has made an appeal for volunteers to join its leadership team.

A spokesman for Diss Museum said the facility in the centre of the town 'depends entirely on volunteers without whom it would not function, from behind the scenes in the collection archives, to front-of-house stewarding during opening hours, and in many other unsung ways'.

Now it needs people to join the museum's board of trustees, which looks after the running of the museum.

People would need spare time to attend about four meetings a year and have experience in management or fundraising, or a marketing or media background.

Volunteers interested in being a part should contact Miranda Moore, chairman to the trustees, on 01379 652707 or email mirandaclaremoore@yahoo.co.uk
