A strike at a Norfolk High School has been cancelled less than 24 hours before it was due to take place.

Staff at Diss High School were due to strike following concerns about board of governors proposals to apply for academy status.

Headteacher Jan Hunt said: 'I am delighted to inform you that following successful negotiations between the school and NASUWT members, the proposed strike at Diss High School will not be taking place tomorrow. It will, therefore, be a normal school day for all year groups.'

Around 50 staff had planned take a day of industrial action tomorrow over concerns regarding future pay and conditions.
