A major refurbishment is about to get underway at a village post office.

The branch in Dickleburgh, near Diss, will be closing at 12.30pm on Saturday, March 26 for a three-week renovation project to take place.

During the refurbishment an open plan Post Office counter will be installed and improvements will be made to the premises' retail.

The branch is expected to reopen on Wednesday, April 20 at 9am.

In the meantime the closest Post Office branches are in Rectory Road, in Tivetshall St Mary, and on The Green, in Pulham Market.

Wendy Hamilton, Post Office field change advisor, said: 'The safety of our customers is of paramount importance to us. Therefore, a temporary is needed to allow for the refurbishment to take place.

'We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to our customers during this period. However, we are sure that the planned improvements to the service will, in time, compensate for any disruption caused in the short term.'
