A muntjac deer had to be put down this morning after getting trapped in a metal gate in West Runton.
Firefighters from Sheringham were called to Calves Well Lane at around 8.20am to help try and free the animal, which had got wedged in the gate around its middle and hind quarters.
But when the crew arrived an emergency vet, who also attended, had already made the decision to put it down.
