The dead minke whale discovered on Cromer beach yesterday was removed by North Norfolk District Council.

It was found just before noon on the east beach but it is not know how it died.

A tweet by North Norfolk District Council said the mammal was removed from the shore yesterday evening and added it was a 'sad day'.

The 25ft-long female whale was believed to have been dead for between one to two weeks.
