Screeching calls of 'exterminate' and the familiar howl of the wookie echoed around the Hollywood Cinema over the weekend as Norwich Star Wars Club held a sci-fi fair.

Daleks, Chewbacca and Darth Vader were among the characters dressed up for the fun at the cinema, in Anglia Square, and alongside them were some stars with first-hand experience with the sci-fi legends.

Among the stars signing autographs was Michael Henbury, who played an ewok in Return of the Jedi and most recently played a Greengot in Harry Potter

Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Mr Henbury said: 'It has been wonderful, very entertaining. It is a new area for me to travel to and everybody has been so friendly. It's so nice to meet new people and visit new places.'

Mr Henbury said he normally did about four of these events a year and planned to return next year.

Barrie Holland, who featured on the Death Star in Return of the Jedi, said that he travelled around the world doing conventions.

He said: 'They are great fun, really nice. They really are a pleasure to go to.'

Also at the fair was Jeremy Bulloch, who starred as Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Mr Bulloch said: 'It has been great to have the cinema open and really fun with lots of characters dressed up.'

Colin Baker, the sixth Dr Who, said he had an enjoyable day, although admitted it was quite odd being a Dr Who among all of the Star Wars merchandise.

Femi Taylor, one of Jabba's dancers from Return of the Jedi, said that she has retrained as a kitchen designer and that none of her clients knew about her sci-fi past.

Model, author and actress Donna Africa said: 'It has been lovely. Friends from Facebook have come along and met me, and it's been a really good vibe.'

Richard Walker, chair of Norwich Star Wars Club, said it had been a successful day with people enjoying meeting the stars, while also taking in the films, which included Wall-E, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back To The Future 2, Star Trek, and E.T.
