The off-shore lifeboat, Lester, has been launched in Cromer following reports of a boat that is believed to have engine problems.
It was launched at 3.50pm after Humber Coastguard received reports of a boat heading to Scarborough had difficulties.
The 32ft long yacht, called Summer Wind, has two people on board and is eight miles north of Cromer.
The Cromer lifeboat crew are on route to assess the yacht's problems.
